Dear family -
As always, time seems to fly by....I can't believe it's already newsletter time again! And so, here we are!! Hope all is well with you and your cute families!
In the last 6 months, we have seen life pass by as if in a dream...another one of our kids have graduated from Mesa High. Can you believe it?? Bethany graduated on a rainy night, the end of May...graduation held outside in the rain, no less. We were all wet, of course, but the graduates were thrilled to be done with it! It wasn't exactly a downpour, but umbrellas were needed. Seminary graduation was also a great event held the same week. After school ended for the year, Bethany found another part-time job working as a receptionist at a hair salon. She is looking forward to going to beauty school, hopefully in the near future! She has enjoyed her time with friends, hanging out, eating out, and sleeping out!! She enjoyed a 6 week sleepover (as she called it) with a friend who was engaged, and needed a roommate temporarily before the wedding. Now she is back home with all the rules that go with it!!
Aaron is now in 9th grade, enjoying every bit of the experience. His summer included campouts with the boys in his quorum, lots of lawn mowing (his job year round), and working with Papa. Since the beginning of school, Aaron has been part of the cross country team, just finishing the season. At the last meet, with all 13 junior highs participating, he came in 2nd for his school (Taylor Jr), and 7th overall in the city. He loved being part of the team, and interacting with the boys AND girls!! :) Starting the first of November, he will participate on the wrestling team with his good friend. He has enjoyed quorum activities, sports at school, Saturday night dances, and hanging out with his friends.
My highlight of the last 6 months was being all together with family, when Josh and Erin got married. It was FUN to spend time with brothers and sisters together in the same weekend. The only downside was not having all their families here as well. Maybe the next wedding, huh?? My time has been full of family, carpools, laundry, girls camp and other assignments with my calling in the Young Women, Friday night dates, missionary letters (writing and receiving), and a trip to Utah. We did a bit of remodeling in our bathroom, and are enjoying the changes made. Mark's life has been busy with work (on a daily basis, mind you), assignments on the high council, and activities and meetings with the Young Men. Mark and I have spent many miles in conversation, as we have been trying to be more diligent in exercising together....from the state of the economy, the role of good nutrition in our lives, our missionaries, our kids at home, our callings, and the lives we have lived together for the past almost 23 years.
Matt and Ben continue to work hard on their missions. They have had a couple of changes in the last months back to the bigger cities, with different assignments, and have enjoyed good companions and baptisms. Their service in the mission has blessed our family immensely in the last 21 months. We really can't believe how fast the almost 2 years has gone. We so appreciate all your love and prayers in their behalf, as well as for all the other missionaries that have served from the Ross Haws family in the recent past. Missionaries...gotta love 'em lots!! My favorite part of Sunday mornings is writing letters to my missionaries.
We have been greatly blessed as a family! We are part of a great family, even the Ross Haws family, and have the Gospel in our lives. What could be better than that?? The Church is TRUE; families CAN be together FOREVER; the Book of Mormon will change your life; we are lead by a LIVING prophet, even Thomas S. Monson; and we are indeed children of a loving Heavenly Father, who loves US!
We love you all!!
Mark, Kathleen, Matt, Ben, Bethany and Aaron Moffitt
