Dennis and Leah’s Family Letter-- Thursday, October 15, 2009
Tsongkingtsabayochasubuzhedaotaofa. !!! J J
Does anyone understand it? Neither do I. I’m listening to TV in my hotel room in Shenyang , China and it all sounds like jibberish to me. Maybe after a month or two it may make some sense.
Last Saturday, Duke was a tiger on the soccer field. He played goalie and saved many a shot made on goal. I’ve been playing assistant coach and enjoyed being his coach. We had a great time on and off the field. Nary to say, I think he is the best player on the team. He is in the 2nd grade and is loving school. He is taking Chinese at school and is way better than I.
Zane is our aloof teenager at present. Always wanting you to do things for him but not wanting to do the things that you ask him to do (unless you threaten him with other chores will he get moving). He is in a new school this year and often rides the bike to school. I think that he enjoys riding the bike until the weather gets cold. He doesn’t like to get dropped off at school too early. I’ve tried it several times and he no like.
Max should be with me here in China but due to H1N1 I couldn’t bring him when I left last week. He was planning to drop out of his school and pack his belongings to come with but maybe in a few weeks. He has playing football at his school and has done quite well. I know that he enjoyed suiting up and tussling with the other players. I also enjoyed watching him play.
Leah is having to carry all the home duties right now. I know that she wouldprefer that I am there helping out but has encouraged me to take the opportunity in China . “You never know where it may lead”, she tells me. She is right and so I took the chance and went to China .
Life is crazy and our kids are great! I recently left my wife and kids and moved to Shenyang , China . I’ll be here a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of ?? months.
What was I thinking? Here all alone with nary a soul to talk to. I’ve got 26 channels to watch and don’t understand any of them. Well one channel is Japanese channel so that one I catch most of it.
This family letter finds our life in a state of CRAZY………………..
