Dearest family -
April already?? Seems like we just did one of these newsletters, didn't we?? Hope this finds all well with each of you, and that if any of you celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, or any other special celebrations that we missed, we hope you had grand parties anyway!!
Matt is busy serving at the moment in Coffs Harbor, up the eastern coast of Australia, north of Sydney. He has been there for about 3 months, and was quite involved in cleanup after a flood in his area. He has been district leader there for about the same amount of time, and is working hard, loving the people, and his area of labor. We love our Elder Matt Moffitt!
Ben is busy serving in Lagos de Moreno, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. He has been in his area going on about 3 months, as well. He and his companion are the only 2 missionaries in his mission in the state of Jalisco, so they make several trips into the mission office in Leon. They are kept busy with Branch assignments, helping investigators get married so they can be baptized, and looking for people to teach. We love our Elder Ben Moffitt!
We in the Moffitt family are getting ready to celebrate another high school graduation on May 21. Bethany will soon join the ranks of graduates from Mesa High!! What a great accomplishment!! Congrats to Bethany! This has been a busy year for Bethany, working part-time, and doing an online class, in addition to regular school work. We seem to pass each other often, she is leaving somewhere, as we are coming in!! Such is the life of a senior. She also keeps busy with friends, driving lots in Wilda (the van she drives), and can be seen riding around town on her beach cruiser! We love our Bethany!
Aaron is now finishing up 8th grade at Taylor Jr. High. This has been a busy year for Aaron with choir, academics, after-school basketball camp, volunteering in a school run 'mentoring/tutoring' program, piano lessons, Teacher's Quorum activities, and various activities with friends. He and his friends can be seen playing basketball at the neighbors, riding bikes to Dairy Queen, mowing lawns, and walking to Mutual. We love our Aaron!
Mark and I keep quite busy with the youth in the stake, as well as common meetings we both attend. We recently participated in activities at the stake level that were planned and carried out by the youth in our stake. It is interesting to see how the youth of today can do more than we often let them. It was a learning experience for leaders, as well as the youth. We enjoy our callings, walking many miles together around the temple grounds, spending time at home, getting missionary emails, FHE with Mimi and Papa, Robert & Lorraine, and Jerry & Coleen and family, family get-togethers, long-distance phone calls from out of town family members, general conference, trips to UT and CA, and life in general.
We are so blessed to belong to such a great family! We love each of you and feel of your love and support, even from far away. We are so blessed to have the blessings of the Gospel in our lives. It is true!! The Gospel brings peace to our lives even in these turbulent economic times. The Lord is aware of each of us and our trials, and is ready to bless us when we ask for His help. We look forward to seeing each of you when we can, and love hearing about you in family newsletters, family blogs, and family phone calls!! See you all soon, hopefully!
We love you all!
