We at the Haws Home are excited for the summer activities just around the corner.
Coleen:
She has been very successful in preparing many names for the temple. She finds great joy and has success researching and doing the work as much as possible. Young Women's has kept her very busy with the garage sale fund raiser, and camp preparations. The joy in accomplishment, $1,200 earned from the 2 weekend garage sale. Most of the young women participated in the event. Great Job. Camp is coming soon, last week in May. 4 days out of the heat. A Great time away.
Jerry:
With 3 months in Salt Lake, the new site manager has taken the reins and is moving forward. I will not miss the time away from home, but I will miss the time spent with Nancy's family and Paul's family and activities. We did love the dinners, racket ball and just spending time with each other. And yes, Paul is one heck of a ball player. I was never able to beat his techniques but I did learn how to play(loose) the game. I will be taking over the recycling center in Phoenix, I will be managing 2 locations in Phoenix. All in an effort in reducing expenses and become more efficient. The young men (Teachers Q.) will be going to the Greer area for their summer activity.
Marci and Darrian & Jag:
are over more often than not, bringing our favorite grandpuppy with them! we have enjoyed having them keep us company with our almost empty nest!
Brad:
He has enjoyed the time in St. George. Finishing the one semester was a great opportunity for him to learn what school is all about. Currently he is taking several institute classes and is preparing to receive the Melquisidec Priesthood. The economic downturn in the St. George area has made it very difficult for him to find work. Hoping to find work or to move to another area that has greater opportunities.
Janell:
She has successfully completed her 1st year as a ZooBee (BYU). She loved every minute of the schooling Freshman experience, and looks forward to the next year. She is off on a cruise with her Grandma (Coleen's Mom) through the Panama Canal. 2 Weeks is a long time to be site seeing, but they find no spare time to be bored. We hope that they return home without the dreaded H1M1 flue (Swines). She returns to Provo at the end of May to work during the summer at a Church family camp. She is very excited.
Trent:
With the end of the school year, he will miss his successful track activities. He participated in the 4X800 and the Discuss throw and one other running event. Several times he scored 2nd, and 3rd place in competition. He loves the Discuss throw. He was called recently to be the Teacher's Q. President, something he will do well at and learn how to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Summer camp, summer school and scuba diving will keep him busy this summer. Sophomore next year.
Caroline:
She has had a great time in dance and concert choir as a 7th grader. She currently is planning on singing again next year and will be in another advanced singing group.
Dance has provided her with the opportunity of moving and getting to know others as they prepared in dance activities. She is looking forward to summer camp with her other young women and her mom. Her gentle and happy personality has made her the happy daughter to hang with.
We love all our children and find joy in serving the Lord. We continue to pray for all our family and hope the Lord will continue to bless each of use during these trying economic and spiritual times.
