Happy Fall to All!!!!
Family-we hope that you are all well and that things are going good for you!
We would like to welcome Zachary Alden Perry as the first grandson for us on August 21, 2008!! Congratulations to Brooke and Delbert on the arrival of their baby boy!! What a great event for our family! He is sooooo cute and so fun to visit and to hold. Brooke and Delbert are doing well in Logan. Brooke has returned to teaching 1st grade at Fielding Elem. (She did not get to start the school year as baby came before it started!) Madison is busy with Volleyball and Basketball and school. Brooke and Delbert team-teach Sunday School in their ward. They are going to bless baby Zachary on Nov. 2.
Rebecca is still in South Korea teaching English at the National University in Seoul. She had an easy start with summer semester but is way more busy this Fall with more classes and more students. She enjoys exploring Seoul and the whole area and has taken several trips to places. She did find a movie theater that plays the movies in English with Korean subtitles-good for her!! She also enjoyed the Summer Olympics being in the same time zone. We are hoping for a visit home at Christmas.
We were all able to do some hard work on a big project---our backyard----early this summer. Patti & her dad painted the whole fence around the yard, all of us leveled the ground and filled in empty (weed) areas with new sod. It is still a work in progress but looks much better now.
Paul has had a hectic summer-working very, very hard. He finished a home in time for the Park City Home Show at the first of September. (It can be yours for only 8.7 million dollars) He is now working to finish a home by the end of Oct. or early Nov. Work is not slowing down. He continues as the PFR on the High Council and ward organist. AND> PLAYS RACQUETBALL as often and whenever he can!
Joe and Tricia are settling in their house in West Valley City-about 15 minute drive from us. Tricia is going to school full-time at the U. of Utah and working part-time. Joe is still working full-time. Joe is Assistant Scoutmaster and went to Scout Camp this summer. Tricia is in the Nursery. And Buddy is our favorite grand- doggy!!
Patti made a change in schools a few weeks ago. Same job-same pay- different location. Her old principal had an opening at her school and Patti took it! Our family (and Patti through PTA and working there) had been associated with Gourley Elementary since Rebecca began Kindergarten in 1986. It was a hard decision to leave but this new school is less stressful and it has been a lot better at the new school. She is still Young Women President-2 years.
Doug is taking a class or two at SLCC and working full-time. He joins Paul for racquetball and they make a good team (he is almost to the point he can beat his "old man") He is looking forward to snowboarding this winter with friends at Snowbird with his> season pass.
Kara is in her Jr. year in high school. She just turned 17 last week on Sept. 28. Happy Birthday Kara!! She went to Girls Camp this summer and enjoyed her short trip to Arizona in August. She has a Choir Concert next week and is taking American Sign Language at school.
Family-what can we say-We love you!!! We are so happy to be a part of such a great family with those who listen and care about what is happening with us and our families. It's great!! Take care-know we are thinking of you and you are always in our prayers!!
