Dear Family -
Here it is the end of October, and newsletter time...can you believe how fast time zips by these days?? I look back on the past 6 months and realize how blessed we have been as members of the Ross Haws family group, as well as the Moffitt family! Aren't families awesome??
Matt and Ben are having great experiences in the missionfield. Many of their letters are on the Ross Haws family blog, so you can read about their weekly adventures as missionaries. Matt is still in a suburb of Sydney called Rooty Hill, with a new companion, Elder Harrison. He is working with many Polynesian people and talks of having too much food to eat! Go figure! He loves being in Australia!! Ben has just been given a new assignment and a new companion. He is back in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, in the city of Cortazar. His new companion is Elder Urbina from Honduras, which is a change for him since all of his other companions have been from different states in Mexico. He loves working with the people there in Mexico, and has had many experiences that are different from life here! We love hearing from Matt and Ben each week, and know they are in the right place, doing the right thing, at the right time in their lives. Missions do great things for missionaries, as well as for the families at home. We reap many blessings for their service. We love our missionary Elders Matt and Ben!!
Bethany is in her senior year at Mesa High. She loves her half-day schedule, having the freedom to work in the afternoon/evening, take naps, do homework or go to the gym! She is looking forward to graduation already!! Social activities, fun, movies, fun, missionary farewells, fun, friends, fun, homework (NOT), fun....did I mention fun being her main focus these days?? We love Bethany!
Aaron is in 8th grade, and now a part of the teacher's quorum. He is really enjoying his year in school, classwork, as well as choir. He is still taking piano lessons, becoming quite proficient, and is now wanting to learn the guitar. He loves having his best friend next door, and all the things they get to do together. Aaron is ALREADY looking forward to getting his drivers license!! We love Aaron!
Mark is still driving trucks all over the valley for DI. He has been busy with Church work as well with his assignments on the High Council and in the Young Men's program. He's an awesome husband and father! We love Mark!!
Me...I am still here!! Keeping up with missionary mail, laundry, carpools, temple sessions, youth activities, visiting teaching, walks with Mark, family time, Friday night dates, phone chats with various family members, checking on extended family blog sites, visiting with Mimi&Papa and various Church assignments give me a full life! I feel so blessed to belong to such a great family. These days when the world seems to be in turmoil, I can always find peace in living the Gospel and trying to be better today than I was yesterday. Knowing that we have a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, to direct the affairs of the Church in these latter days, under the direction of the Lord Jesus Christ, builds my faith instead creating fear in my life. We are indeed children of a loving Heavenly Father who loves and knows us and our individual needs and challenges. Aren't we so blessed to play a part in the last days before the Saviour returns? Yes, we all have various challenges, but the Lord is here to sustain us however, and whenever, we may need it. I am grateful to all of you for your love and support....family is what it's all about! I love you all more than you know!
Love,
Kathleen, Mark, Matt, Ben, Bethany, Aaron.....the Moffitts!! :)
