James & Stacee Haws Family

Hello Haws Families!

Where to begin? So much has happened since our last family news letter. We’ve celebrated a few birthdays. I turned the milestone of 30 in May. Zach turned 3, and Jacee turned 2. Our fall and winter birthdays (Alecia, Kylie and James) will be fast approaching us. Jacee had to have 2 stitches in her head thanks to Zach. That was no fun to see her go through that at the doctor’s office. We went to Greer in July for a week. That was lots of fun. Kids loved it and we had a great time with Jason and Laurissa’s family and Grandpa and Grandma Haws. We will sure miss not being able to go there as much. We don’t know when the next time we will be able to go will be. In August James and I moved out of Arizona and moved to Washington. James started a new job in August. The girls started a new school in August. James got a calling in our new ward in August. We went and saw Josh on his mission in October and I got a new calling in our ward also. Is that a lot for everyone to believe? Shall I explain more?? I’m sure not many of you knew that James and I moved in August. These last few months have been VERY busy for us. Well, it all starts back in June. James and I have talked about moving for a few years, but were unable to find the right job somewhere or even to be brave enough to move. All until one night while James was looking at jobs online. He was looking in a town called Spokane for jobs and he found a job listed in the local paper for a job that sounded like he had the qualifications for. He came and talked to me and asked me if he should apply for it. I told him it couldn’t hurt. He had applied for jobs online before and never heard anything back from any of them. What was the worst that could happen? So he went ahead and sent his resume to them and crossed our fingers. The next morning he had an e-mail about his resume and the job he applied for. The head HR lady wanted a phone interview with him that afternoon. That afternoon he had the interview and it went really well. The HR lady (Sandy) wanted to set up another interview for the following week with a few of the plant managers. The following week, he had that interview. That too went well. During that interview they wanted him to fly up and take a tour of the plant. James did that the end of June. The tour went well and they liked what they saw about James. During the tour of the plant, they offered James the job and offered him a bonus to help us move to WA. 3 days after he got home, he took the job and we started to plan for our move. They wanted James up in Washington in 3 week, but we told them we couldn’t be there until the 18th of August. So, we put our house on the market, pack up the house and we left Arizona on the 4th of August. We were unable to sell our house, but we did find someone to lease/purchase our house for 18 months. After 18 months or within those 18 months they have to option to buy it. They do want to buy it, but they are working on their credit right now. We are renting a house in Washington right now. We wanted to see what the economy would do first before we buy a house here. Our parents were excited for us (all but Robert). They knew the moved would be good for us. Of course, we miss all of our families. We miss our family get-togethers. But we are doing well here in WA. On our drive up to WA to went to California and went to Disney Land. The kids had fun and enjoyed it. We then drove up to San Francisco, up to northern California and up the coast of Oregon and into Washington. We are in a town called Moses Lake (we are closer to Spokane than Seattle). We are in a small town of only 18,000 people. Smaller ward, smaller stake. Only one stake here, but have 10 wards. Our first Sunday here James was called to the Secretary in the Young Men’s Presidency. I didn’t get a calling until the week before General Conference. I am the 2nd counselor in the Primary Presidency. I’m a little nervous about my calling. I’ve never been a counselor before, always the secretary. They girls started school at the end of August. They ride the bus and were excited about that when they first started. Kylie is in 3rd grade and Alecia is in 1st grade. They are loving school and are doing a good job. Zach and Jacee stay at home with me everyday. We don’t do too much. Have a few play dates every so often. We only have one car here, so when I do need the car I have to take James to work. It works out ok. Also, as many of you know, Josh is serving his mission here in Washington. Last weekend (week after conference) we planned a trip and saw Josh. We spent the day with him and took him out to lunch along with his companion. It was fun to see him and it had been a long time since we got to see him, over 14 months. He is doing really well. The girls (Kylie and Alecia) liked seeing him again. Pictures of our trip to see him is on my blog if anyone would like to look at them. So, a lot has happened for James and I since our last family newsletter. We were able to spend as much time as we could with family before we moved and we enjoyed that time. Amy even came out and saw us before we moved. It was really good to see her. We sure go miss everyone. We are trying to adjust to a smaller town, no family to hang out with every weekend and our family dinners. I don’t think many people have our new information, so I will add it so everyone can have it.
