News from the Brandon and Sharon Mann Family
We have worked hard for the last little while and now are ready for some fun. We are moving to Alaska and will enjoy a little change in our surroundings. It will be interesting adjusting to sun as it will either be there too much or not enough. Being away from the family will be different but it won't be for long and hopefully we will find our way back to Utah. We decided to drive the 50 hours, stopping along the way for a little time out. I'm glad to say that we did it, but I don't know if we will do it again. It was long but a beautiful drive as we saw a lot of wildlife along the way. We saw moose, buffalo, elk, bears and even a snowcat that crossed our path. I just hope that they aren't outside our front door!
Sharon graduated last week from BYU's school of nursing and will be taking her boards within the next few days to get her RN. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, the only one in her April graduating class, and was honored for her hard work. She played the harp at her graduating ceremony and did a great job accompanying while others sang. She has been offered a job in Anchorage in the Cardiac ICU unit of the hospital there and was offered the job over the phone because of her great knowledge. They even offered her a relocation reimbursement which was great for us. They were really impressed!
Brandon will start at Alaska/Anchorage University taking classes to become an air traffic controller. He will be up there until he completes his training. He will be able to work remotely from Fishbowl, where he has worked for the last 3 years in Orem, and that will be great because he will be the babysitter 3 nights a week while Sharon is at work. Father and son will be bonding!
Little Braxton is due on Aug 4th and we are excited to have the next 13 weeks pass quickly. Going from one adventure to the next is what life is all about and we can't wait for the baby to arrive, beginning our next adventure!
Love,
Brandon and Sharon
